Why homeowners install a Tesla Powerwall
The Tesla Powerwall stores energy so your home keeps running when the grid goes down, shifts your usage out of expensive peak rate windows, and lets you get full value from a solar system by using your own power at night instead of selling it back at low rates. With Powerwall 3, Tesla raised continuous power output to 11.5 kW, giving homeowners more flexibility in what they can back up.
You can install Powerwall as a standalone backup battery, as the storage layer for a new Tesla Solar Roof or PV Panels, or as an add on to an existing solar PV system. Most of our customers fall into one of three buckets: outage protection, solar self-consumption, or both.
Choose a Tesla Powerwall installer who has earned the certification
Powerwall is a high voltage electrical system tied into your main service panel. Installation quality is what separates a battery that quietly does its job for a decade from one that throws faults, fails to back up the loads you actually care about, or never qualifies for utility incentives. That is why Tesla awards the Powerwall Certified Premier designation only to a small number of installers who have proven their installation volume, factory training, and customer satisfaction. Weddle & Sons holds Powerwall Certified Premier and Tesla Energy Certifications to ensure the best installation experience, every time.

hole home vs partial backup
During your consultation we evaluate your panel setup, your major loads, and what matters most to you when the grid drops. Some homeowners only need essential loads backed up, the fridge, internet, a few outlets, and a furnace. Others want true whole home backup including central HVAC, electric range, and EV charging. We size the right number of Powerwalls for your goals and your budget, and we are honest if you do not need as many as you think.

Powerwall plus solar
Powerwall reaches its full value when paired with solar. Solar charges the battery during the day, the battery powers your home at night, and you keep more of the energy you generate instead of selling it back to the utility at retail minus rates. If you already have solar, we can add Powerwall as a retrofit. If you are starting from scratch, we can design the solar system and Powerwall as a single integrated project, either with traditional rack mounted panels or with the Tesla Solar Roof.
Local utility incentives and programs
Some utilities in our service area offer storage rebates, virtual power plant participation payments, or time of use rate programs that reward battery ownership. We pull the incentives that actually apply to your address, no generic estimates, and include them in your written proposal.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Don’t see your question? We’re always happy to talk things through, no pressure, no jargon.
What is the Tesla Powerwall 3?
Powerwall 3 is Tesla’s latest home battery system. It stores energy from solar or the grid so you can power your home at night, during peak rate hours, or through an outage. Each unit provides 13.5 kWh of usable capacity and up to 11.5 kW of continuous power, and multiple units can be stacked for larger homes or whole home backup.
Do I need solar panels to install a Powerwall?
No. Powerwall works as a standalone backup battery using grid power, and it also pairs natively with the Tesla Solar Roof or any standard solar PV system. Many homeowners install Powerwall first for backup, then add solar later.
How many Powerwalls do I need for whole home backup?
It depends on your square footage, HVAC, and which loads you want to back up. Most single family homes need one to three Powerwalls. We size your system based on a load assessment during your free consultation, no guessing.
Why does Tesla Powerwall Certified Premier matter?
Tesla awards the Powerwall Certified Premier designation only to installers who meet strict training, install volume, and customer satisfaction standards. We are one of a small number of contractors in the region who hold it, which means faster permitting, factory level support, and a cleaner install.
